Confirmed: Salva Writing & Directing Jeepers Creepers 3

The Creeper is ready to take flight again.
Victor Salva, we have learned via a number of highly reliable sources, is officially on board to write and direct Jeepers Creepers 3, the latest installment in MGM's monstrous franchise that he created in 2001 and carried through with a sequel subsequently released in 2003. Both films introduced audiences to The Creeper, an ancient creature that comes out of hibernation for 23 days to feed.
Early rumblings on the web pegged Salva solely as a writer with the potential to direct, however, we have learned he is committed to overseeing the third chapter (shall we call it Jeepers Threepers?) himself. Whether it will fly straight-to-DVD or into theaters remains to be seen. Our contacts add that "Jeepers 3" may pave the way for a television series Salva is discussing with MGM and American Zoetrope (both mainstays in the franchise to date).
The initial Jeepers Creepers opened at $13 million, breaking Labor Day weekend box office records at the time. Its follow-up was met with a $15 million bow two years later during a similar holiday release period. Together, the films have pulled in a little over a $100 million, not counting DVD sales.
Shooting will begin on the threequel either before he begins production on or after he completes Entity, not to be confused with the Barbara Hershey-starring ghost story of the same name. Salva has stated on several occasions that Entity is the closest he will ever get to a sequel to his 1995 film Powder - he wrote it shortly after Powder as part of three films he refers to as his "alien trilogy."

I AM THRILLED TO SEE THIS NEXT CREEPER MOVIE I AM A HUGE!!FAN OF THE CREEPER BUT I DON'T WANT IT TO GO STRAIGHT TO DVD THAT WILL SUCK BADLY I WAN'T TO SEE THIS IN THEATERS I WOULD BE THE FIRST TO GET MY TICKET TO SEE THAT ONE BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST CREEPER EVER MADE!!!

this movie has to come in the theaters i've been waiting on the next creeper movie it will suck to have to get it on dvd and not see it live like it would be in the theaters !!!

The guy is a convicted child rapist and should not be supported. It was premeditated as he actually videotaped the atrocity for his future viewing pleasures. He also did not spend nearly enough time in prison. He was given 3 years and only spent 15 months. Gee, that's fair... Obviously he bought a get out of jail free card from the monopoly guy.

Hopefully this one makes it to the big screen, I don't know if it stands a chance if it keeps the "old west" plot. Then again, they put crap on the big screen all the time ala Saw franchise, for the exception of the first one.

me and my best friends tara , danille , shauna , amy and keith all love the jeepers creepers movies and we really want Al santos to be in the new one he was so funny n the second one and weve seen all of his films he played a cool character when we saw him in lost signal.

LOVE YOUR MOVIES!!!....i am addicted to jeepers, i do live in ocala and find my self going back to the scene on old highschool road..i cant seem to find the exsact spot where the church was, because i know it was burnt down, i am also going to live in that neborhood soon....anyways love your films..cant wait for the trilogy...

I'm very much looking forward to part 3. I enjoyed the first two films and couldn't wait for a part 3. I truly believe a theatrical release is the only way to go. I'm glad the same people are behind the making as well.

It's never shocking to see the tired bigotry splashed all over the comments section to an article that mentions Victor Salva, one kind-of expects the knuckle-draggers to swoop in with their hate. There wasn't 45 minutes of sun tanning, but I can see where infantile boys insecure with their sexuality would imagine there to be such gratuitous footage. And, of course, horror's core fanboy base... the myopic, acne pocked straight boys who have only one hope... to see fake breasts and perhaps a lame sex scene so they can visit the inside of their fists on those lonely school nights... yeah, I can see where they'd have a problem with a horror flick not resorting to the cheap exploitation of the female form. As far at the pedophile comments... homosexuals are not pedophiles and vice versa. Sure, Salva has a particularly twisted past (one for which he's paid for) but its amazing how many people fixate on a movie director but never seem to know about things far more perverse than taking pictures... oh, say like Ronald Reagan's pedophile scandals (yes there was more than one) that involved MANY kids, the Republican Party and the Catholic Church! Amazing how people so easily forgive right-wingers for their disgusting habits while condemning lesser criminals.

It's about time for the third installment. The creature is fasinating. I loved the first two films, I watch them often. Thank you, Thank you seems like it's been 23years waiting. Maybe I can win a contest to see the first screening.
I hope it's real scary and the creeper munch on a lot of people. Will this be the end of the Creeper, will there be a forth, fifth instalment?

Hey Jeepers Creepers fans thought u wouldblike to know a little bit about number 3
It will he called Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral and will he based in 2024 with trish having a son and being scared he will meet the same end as darry so she teams up with 2 guys and takes the creeper on again
also at the begging of the film with will listen to a prolouge and see where the creeper came from and see how he became the creeper.
The film is due out in 2011 im not sure of the month or dae but if u want to be informed send me an e-mail on [email protected]
their is also a Jeepers Creepers 4 on the way as the writer and director wanted to shoot them back to back
