Eh, gats!!! I didn't even consider this happening. I am big fan of the original and why I would have understood a re-make any; a re-make in 3-D was what made this idea so exciting.

Yeah I looked into this last week. Seems that there are only 866 "Real-D" theaters in the country. The closest theater to me isn't even in my state. It's about a 90 minute drive from my house. I think I'll still make the trip up to see it though. Maybe do a matinee and hit up the mall and surrounding area just to make a day of it.
Having said that, I still think it's tremendously ****ty that Lionsgate is so heartlessly (sorry couldn't resist the pun) advertising the 3-D experience when it knows good and well that almost 2/3 of the moviegoing public WILL NOT be getting the 3-D experience. Watching a 3-D movie in 2-D is like having sex while wearing a condom. You go through the same motions, but you're missing the intended sensation.
Hopefully Avatar will raise the bar and get theater owner's butts in gear to give us more 3-D equipped theaters.

I had a feeling this was going to happen so its not a surprise. It doesn't really matter to me that I won't be seeing it in 3-D because I really just want to see the movie period. The 3-D aspect was never what sold the movie to me. Plus, I saw parts of the Superman Returns movie in 3D and it was cool but nothing worth being overly excited about or crying that you didn't get to see the few parts from the movie that were actually in 3-D. Oh, well. I'm still excited to see the movie once it hits theaters!

This is exactly the reason Final Destination: Death Trip 3D was announced to be released in the summer, more than a year the day it was announced.

Anyway this suck bato. I mean i was very excited to have another 3d experiense like i did in beowulf. but really is the studio having doubt on releasing it cause of the cost of the 3d shade, i mean damn classes cost ya like 3 or 4 dollars more, but is the fun see the blood jump over the screen. there already like 2 more coming, so ye know which are they.
I hoping it comes in san diego, if it dont then i pass.

I don't think anyone can blame Lionsgate for the fact that theaters are slow to catch up with the new technology. Considering what theaters in Omaha charge for 3-D features, you think every theater would jump on the bandwagon and make a killing. It cost me $17.50 to see a matinee of "Bolt" in 3-D.

Well Consider yourself lucky anyway.
Here in Denmark we have absolutely no Theaters that can show the movie in 3-D.
In fact were lucky if we even get to see the movie in ordinary 2-D in this Country.
Horrormovies have unfortunatly never been big in Denmark so we Horrorfans always have hard times with new Horrorreleases.
Thank god for dvd.

Our local theaters has shown every 3-D movie released lately, so I'm hoping this one will continue the trend.
