This month, director Darren Bousman (Repo! The Genetic Opera) - who's deep into pre-production on a Mother's Day remake for Twisted Pictures - delves into the world of comic books with "Abattoir."
Published through Radical Comics (Steve Niles' "City of Dust"), the story "chronicles real estate agent Richard Ashwalt, assigned the impossible task of cleaning up after a brutal massacre takes place at a mansion. As he cleans the blood-soaked grounds, a twisted old man journeys to the house with a sinister and terrifying purpose, and Richard is drawn into a web of shadows, murders and massacres that will shatter him to his very core...and make him run for his life." The story was born from a script idea Bousman whipped up with his writing partner Michael Peterson.
Radical is offering San Diego Comic-Con attendees a first look at "Abattoir" - which won't publish until 2010 - via their preview book. You can get your paws on it at their booth (#3735) and meet Bousman Saturday, July 25th (he'll be signing).
