That's Badass! I'm glad we didn't get a clear look at it in the movie, kept him more mysterious and Freaky...

this movie still sucked big time. what a waste of time . their lame attempt of trying to scare people was useless. this movie was so predictable , even the ending was ripped off from the original, except that this time....it was not scary, it was not shocking, it was just lame. this whole movie played out like when a stand up comedian does his act and nobody laughs at the jokes.
guess i'm just tired of hearing all these producers of remakes claiming how different their film is gonna be. total BS.

It's up there with The Final Chapter and The New Blood for me as personal favorites, easily one of the best.

one of the worst films ive seen this year, with the unrealistic plot to the stupid one liners from the cast. to sum this up, the first three films smudged together, without any scares, alot of stupid deaths from the unlikeable cast, and so predictable. what a disapointment.

Yeah right .... like the old movies were masterpieces ....

People just has a built in prejudice against remakes and I don't know why! They're not really remakes they're reimaginings!

Wow, that movie sucked big time! Sure none of the other ones were good but this was pathetic. None of the kills were unique, and when did Jason become an archer? I digress, it was a crappy with an even crappier ending. Seriously, make sure the guy is dead before throwing him the lake or at teh least chop his limbs making him not a threat anymore.
Posted by: Mike on February 16, 2009 at 15:58:03
Wow.. why did you folks even go see it then? Don't tell me you went with high hopes?
I went in, figuring this was just going to be a pleasant diversion to hold me over until the next F13 sequel came out.
I came out, swearing that Derek Mears is officially the best Jason ever, and that this is the best of the F13 films.
I loved the fact that they minimized all the hocus pocus supernatural stuff, and agreed with the concept of Jason just essentially being a dude that wants to be left alone, and the reasons behind his killings are based in territorial issues.
Thankfully they avoided Tom Savini's "mentally challenged" Jason and went straight for the backwoods killer with a child's mentality.
It was also great to see that most of the audience consisted of the same folks Jason was killing in the film. It made a lot of sense, and the claim that characters weren't cared about, is patently false. The audience cheered for the victims as they fought back. I know I was sitting there wishing that Chewie wasn't going to die right at the point he did.
It's been my experience that the audiences usually cheer for Jason.
Some of the characters reminded me of folks I know, and felt they were as beleivable as my friends were.
Ah well.. to each their own, I guess. I'm apparently easy to amuse, and very thankful for that because I get to enjoy films like this, instead of whining.
It's just a movie.. if you build up something in your mind, you're only setting yourself up to hate it. No movie will ever compare with that kinda' hype. Jason would have needed to come out of the screen, shook your hand and killed the loud kid behind you to make this film "good enough" for some folks.

the old movies werent masterpieces by any level but should be considered oscar winners compared to this new one. im sorry maybe i am just a "hater" toward remakes, but not one of them have been good. the last house on the left has a shot because it isnt done by some big studio and might keep some originality to it. what was funny to me though(not to bash ryan rotten again) was the comment about almost feeling sad when one of the people got killed. maybe i was just too busy feeling sorry for myself for anticipating a decent film, but definitly didnt feel bad at all...i mean come on.. Jared ****in padalacki was in it. i dig the guy on supernatural but he hasnt been in one halfway decent movie in his life(remember cry wolf?i barely do)im sorry but if you expect me to feel for a cast of cw stars and the oc stars and a bunch of other duesch bags then your crazy.
Posted by: coolerthanu on February 16, 2009 at 16:36:03
nobody is asking u to feel for them oc douche bags, i couldnt care less about any of them, the girls were hot,but still im glad they all got killed, like i fuucking say, i just wanted to see jason smacking fools around, no one is looking for a realistic movie, or oscar acting, im just looking for jason killing people, with some boobs thrown in, i guess none of u douce fuucks have seen any of the other jason movies, because in the end there all the same, the story starts with a view of the lake or some place, then there some attempt at backstory, some boobs, swimming, drinking, boobs, smoking, some more talking, then jason comes out kills someone, then they wondered wat happened to that person, then jason kills more people, then a fight between the good people and jason, and then jason ''dies''.
and u know wat i love them all
and to the haters, the way these people talk, there expecting the joker to give a speech or batman to fight some villians. not everything is the dark knight or has a realistic story like dark knight, not saying anyone in these comments have said anything like that.
its jason its sussposed to have that formula.
so eat poopy butt..
i loved the movie
i loved the ending
i love the kills
i loved the atmosphere
i loved the *******
i loved that that douche fart trent got killed
:D

The best movie ever I loved every second of the film if it wasn't for the mysterious hidding of jasons face the movie would of been RUINED. AND I AM SERIOUS

yay devil finally someone who says they love the movie.
it was too tight , i loved the movie

I have to agree. Derek Mears is officially the best Jason there ever was. I also liked how they gave Jason a little more depth, like he some how survived the drowning, and it was more legend. You really weren't sure. A few elements from the old movies were tied in to keep the plot from just dying.
The place where the hockey mask was found among antiques worked better for me. Even though Shelley's prank was good for the original part 3.
I saw absolutely nothing wrong with the movie. I loved every second even the ending (which I won't spoil for those who haven't seen it.
The only thing I didn't like was that there were people behind me trying to whisper at what was going to happen next but I did my best to ignore them because my gf was with me and it was V-Day.
All in all it was worth my money. The kills ranged from classic to a few new kills that was a nice change instead of the same old thing. Jason was even more methodical in this one than he was in all of the other movies.
While this board may be mixed there's no doubt that Mears version of Jason is the best one no questions asked.

One of many problems I had with the film, not showing Jason unmasked...what the hell? Not enough blood, the kills weren't that great, no survivor girl (again, what the hell?), why would Jason take a hostage, how come the rich kid never heard of Jason even though he has a house on freaking Crystal Lake, since when did Jason start growing weed...ugh, I could go on. I didn't hate the film, but I didn't like it either. It's better than 5,8 and 9 but that's it.

This movie Rocked. I loved the fact that they used Jason as a tough, fast, hunter/tracker. Man, The jason Character reminded me of rambo in a way. This was the toughest Jason that I ever seen and Derek Mears did a fine job as the new jason. I loved the fact that they showed his emotions in his actions and you can tell he was a pissed off killer. When the victims would escape you could see the way he ran and in his eyes that he was going to do anything to kill them. (Spoiler) IN the barn scene when they wrapped that chain around him and that machine was pulling him he still was trying to find a way to kill him. The way he killed in this movie was like his addiction. When that guy poked him with the fire poker in the shed and took off running you could see how pissed off he was because he started tearing the shed apart. He threw the canoes around in another scene because he knew that someone got away from his place. This was awesome. I can't say derek mears is a better jason compared to kane hodder because kane hodder deserves that award but if derek mears comes back as jason again if they do a sequel you better believe that I can reevaluate my decision. Overall this Jason reminded me of a ninja in a hockey mask ( I'm just glad he didn't bust out some martial arts).
Of course the plot was bad, The acting was not that great but that is how teenagers talk and act and the director and script writter did a good job with the cheesey lines. The plot of the movie wasn't all that great but they did a good job reaching out to a new audience who didn't know about jason but pissed off the hardcore fans. I enjoyed the beggining and I did enjoy the end even though it wasn't the best. I am looking forward to the sequel. For the record for the horror fans out there who are complaining about the movie, if you check out the last two jason movies; Freddy vs Jason and Jason X they got really horrible reviews.

Judson, JASON DID NOT GROW WEED! if you listen in the beginning, a friend of a friend of WADE'S was the one who planted it. Jason has taken "trophies" before (granted not live ones). he took Alice's (and Terry's bodies back to his shack in PART 2. and a rich, snobby douche like Trent could care less about ANYONE else (including some "legend" about some guy) other than himself.

i went into this movie expecting to see stupid teenagers getting killed at the hands of a crazy, backwoods, psycho, wearing a hockey mask...and thats what i got. if you were looking for more than that....your an idiot.
i see alot of people saying "it wasnt scary"...of course it wasn't. movies arent scary anymore. anyone over the age of 12 shouldnt be scared by a movie. i love horror movies, and go to see them all the time, but i cant remember the last time ive been scared by one.
people saying it was predictable. seriously guys, i know most of you have seen alot of movies. we're movie watchers. thats why we come here. our interest is movies. when was the last time you watched a movie that was really unpredictable? one that kept you guessing throughout the entire movie? ive see so many movies in my life, that almost nothing is new. i can predict the outcome of probably 80% of the movies i watch, and im sure you can too. but that dont stop me from watching them.
this was better than any rehashed japanese horror film. it was also better than alot of the original F13 movies. it was a worth remake, and ill go see the sequel.

wasn't it that one hick's crop? The group at the beginning only heard about where the crop is, gunna do a crop score...You even see that one hick offer Clay some buds when he's handing out flyers...
