The WGA strike continues, but Bob and Harvey Weinstein are following United Artists' lead. The brothers behind The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films have signed an interim work agreement.
That's good news for horror in some respects (we suppose it depends on how you feel about Dimension's genre output). The brothers can now hire writes for script revisions on projects they have in development. They can also take pitches from WGA scribes.
Horror films in Dimension's future are Scanners, written by David Goyer and to be directed by Darren Bousman, and Clive Barker Presents: Hellraiser, by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury. Both remakes. Both pegged for release this fall.
Then there's whatever Rob Zombie plans to do. Looks like he can start writing again after his tour.
