this movie looks AWESOME! i wonder if some people are going to start b!tching because Ethan's character is out in the daytime. you know how people love to nit-pick.

it does look awsome. I dont remember the vampires out at day though in the previews. Anyways, i wanted to make a point, and thats theres a few simple rules to vampires that people get pissed off with if theyre broken.
1. They drink blood
2. theyre immortal
3. they have at the very least superhuman strength and speed
4. theres very few ways to kill them, stake in the heart, head severing, or SUNLIGHT
Outside of those, everything else is kind of up in the air like reflections, turning into bats/being able to fly, a need to be invited in before being able to, hating the cross...stuff like that. So when they start twinkling in the sun, or just dont get fazed by it at all, it just doesnt feel like a real vampire story. It just feels like someone is twisting the vampire mythos and taking advantage of it to tell another story or make another point. Doesnt mean that i wont like the movie (i actually enjoyed both twilight movies) but they just dont feel like a true vampire movie to me. more like some sort of highlander movie. 30 days of night in my humble opinion was the best vampire movie ever, followed by lost boys, then followed by fright night. I loved the Underworld series but Its just not a good vampire movie unless theyre frightening. and in that the werewolves were the scary ones.

Actually, movies that depict the sunlight as a way to kill vampires are incorrect. Vampires despise the sun but it doesn't actually kill them. If anything it might weaken them and feel extremely painful for them, which is why they'd avoid it, but it wouldn't destroy them.

By the way, I agree, vampires are horrifying and nightmarish creatures and should ALWAYS be depicted as so in movies. Enough with the whiny little "emo" pussies.
