Source:Lionsgate
November 13, 2008

Yes, Jigsaw - and his disciples - will return in Saw VI on October 23, 2009. No word yet on a plot, obviously, but word is Saw franchise editor Kevin Greutert is directing from a script by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. Saw V, to date, has grossed nearly $80 million worldwide. $53 million of that is domestic.

stop already

Saw V was one of the best in the series. Saw VI is supposedly the conclusion to the saga. Cracks me up the haters that say to stop making them. No one is forcing you to go see them. I am typically not a huge fan of this type of horror. I did not like films like Hostel or Turistas. The thing that makes the Saw films unique is the story. They have really good writers for these films and if you strip away all the gore you still have good stories.

Not a lot of horror series respect it's fan base like the Saw filmmakers and they should be applauded for that.

I love the saw movies and will go see saw 6, but i got to say saw 5 wasnt very good at all..the 2 twists were easy to see coming which isnt usual with the saw movies, the acting is always awful and ive gotten used to that but it was at an all time worse in this movies, and the guy talking to himself at every area was retarded..if saw 6 is anything like saw 5 then im done with the series for good cause we all know damn well 6 wont be the last one.

So if Saw VI is the conclusion to the saga, does that mean Saw VII is gonna start from scratch or is Saw VII going to be a remake of Saw I? And if Saw VII is a new beginning to the saga, does that mean we'll get more people in deadly traps, with yet another new twist at the end, cause that would be a really fresh start.

i hate to admit it, cause i do love the Saw movies even for all the bad, but i wish theyd just wrap it up at 6. Itd be nice if they made it like 2hours and had a definitive ending. Cause its getting to the point just like JUDSON above said, its people, traps, and kinda a twist ending. The just keep twisting it and twisting it. I would love jsut to have a conclusion. I dont even care if they come back to it after saw 6 and go in a different direction, i just want a once and for all REAL concluions that puts an end to the first 6 films. - sry i just drank a monster

Hopefully,Part 6 ought to be the very end of the series(which has been falling apart since Part 3).

Posted by: Onslaught on November 13, 2008 at 18:15:33

Saw V was about the story of how he became the apprentence of Jigsaw. There weren't supposed to be many twits and turns people. If you didn't like then don't see Saw VI. Saw VI will be the conculsion. They said from the beginning that they were going to make 6 movies.

No they didn't. You have either got a bad source or you are knowingly flat out lying.

Even though I didn't think V wasn't as good as the first four,I'll be getting it when it comes out on dvd and I'll be seeing VI when it comes out next year.

Funny, coming from a guy who was in the first movie.

I've been asking this question on every article about the Saw movies but i havent gotten a streight answer yet.

How long do you think this series is? I know that Saws 3 and 4 take place at the same time, Donnie Wahlbergs character was being held for six months before he died and Saw 5 takes place after the main storyline in 4 but before the autopsy seen at the beginning and end of the same movie.

So how long do you think it's been from Saw 1 to Saw 5 in the movies storyline? Please tell me even if you just have an idea, i'm just curious.

I NEW BEFORE SEEING SAW V THAT THERE WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER ONE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THE WINNER OF SCREAM QUEEN ON VH1 WILL GET TO STAR IN SAW VI.

I just really hope that they make a WAY better ending on Saw 6... I liked 5 to a point... and I trust the writers will (probably already do) have a way to wrap the 5 people in the room and box into 6...
I saw all the rest so for me I need to wrap it up no matter how crappy they seem to be getting, but that is just cause they need better directors.

PLEASE STOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: KHW on November 13, 2008 at 20:54:48

SAW% still good, not great, but i will check SAW6 next year, SAW5 wasnt that bad. YEAH BRING IT ON DUDES AND DUDAS.

I did not go see SAW-V and have no intentions of seeing a sixth installment of this lack luster series. The first one was the only one that really had me guessing until the end. The rest, well not so much. I'll wait until I can go see a double feature of SAW-20 and Rambo-80. That will be hella cool!

tisk..tisk...

what?

So, Lionsgate will keep pushing this **** down our throats, but Warner Bros. is still holding on to Trick 'R Treat?

Makes me sick.

kill me now

Posted by: SAW FAN on November 13, 2008 at 21:44:14

I am a huge fan of the franchise. V wasnt my favorite. I-III were the best, but I hope they make 15. My only probably with V was the complete lack of gore compared to the previous installments. I want kills. I want gore. I want blood.

And for the guy who said VI is supposed to be the end of the saga, he should do his research. It's not confirmed yet, but insiders said V's opening weekend gross greenlit two more sequels in addition to VI. They also said they plan to keep making them until they don't make their money back.

I hope they do. Just dont forget the gore this time.

Please kill off Costas Mandylor already. He has a screen presence that makes Keanu Reeves look good by comparison.

im a big fan of the saw's franchise but it's starting to get really silly now saw v tried to explain a little too much & was by far the worst film of the series 1 to 3 was the best & now they've rubberstamped 6 & apparently 2 more oh great i'll go see them no doubt but only because im a huge horror fan & ive seen 1 to 5 in the cinema id hate to break the mould lol.

Posted by: t on November 14, 2008 at 09:15:25

i love the saw series...but saw V was one of the worst movies i have ever seen. what a waste of money

Posted by: Evan on November 14, 2008 at 16:42:15

Its pretty obvious that 6 will focus(at least a little bit) on his wife, because of that scene with the box...so thats something to look forward to..more screen time for probably the least interesting person put in any of these movies.. how about the twist on 6 be that a bomb goes off and kills every single person thats ever been in the movie..then 7 they can all be zombies..that will cover at least 5 more movies...the writers did the feast movies which were really good..sad to see the bull**** that came out of them on 5.. maybe someone can help me out here..havent paid enough attention to notice if its been said but in 3 when amanda opens the letter and looses it..have they explained what was in that yet? im thinking back on 4 and 5 and dont remember hearing it.

Posted by: Bill Brasky on November 14, 2008 at 18:44:39

Actually, almost from the beginning the SAW series has been set up to be a seven chapter saga. Part seven will be the last one. Its been put in contract. In the TV spots for SAW V they called it "his last" just to **** with people.

Personally, I like the saw franchise but I still can understand how some may be pissed by it.

But dont worry, only two more to go !
