X-Files: I Want to Believe UK Poster
Source:Empire
July 17, 2008
We give Fox points for subtlety. When the studio released the U.S. one-sheet for The X-Files: I Want to Believe, Mulder and Scully (Duchovny and Anderson, respectively) took the back seat to a giant shadowy "X." Classy. Fox's international approach, namely its campaign in the UK, takes the glamorous approach as you can see in a new one-sheet revealed this morning.
The X-Files: I Want to Believe opens in U.S. theaters on July 25th and in the UK on August 1st.

I like the domestic poster better.
I don't understand why international posters are just close ups of actors faces.
The X-Files was huge in europe, can't they identify a title without being spoon fed?

THE X-FILES: MANNEQUINS

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this poster. It's iconic and quite beautiful. I don't quite understand your point also, Darknightwatchman, it's precisely BECAUSE the X-Files is so huge in Europe that this poster works. The US poster is so badly photoshopped and with so much 'busyness' going on in it that it doesn't really revisit many of the X-Files themes. It has to bombard you with visuals. This one does exactly what it says on the tin; Mulder and Scully. That's what the X-Files IS therefore nothing else needs to be said. We're certainly not being spoonfed, in fact it's usually the other way around!
Anyway, great poster. Can't wait for the film!!!

Oh! I love this poster!! The first one, the one with the "X", I liked...the second one -with the photoshop fiasco I loathed- but this...IS AWESOME!! Hope to see it somewhere near soon!!
