Check out the New Trick 'R Treat Trailer!

Source:iangibb2005
April 19, 2009

ShockTillYouDrop reader iangibb2005 has pointed us to a new extended trailer for Michael Dougherty's long-delayed horror anthology Trick 'R Treat, which ends with an announcement that it will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray this October, just in time for Halloween. We've been informed that there will be more details about the release in June, though it's not yet clear whether the movie might get a theatrical release sometime before October.

You can watch the cool new trailer here.

"...long delayed" is an understatement.

wow ^^^ hahaha this movie looks amazingg finally ! :)

Posted by: Ryan on April 19, 2009 at 15:07:35

I agree with cornboy they are idiots and even though it will get a dvd release it still isn't the same as being put in theaters. It won't get noticed as much even though I hope it does. I know what is its because they are keeping this movie oldschool with vampires and ghosts and werewolves and they are probably afraid no one will dig it as much like in the old days. They finally got something original and they don't want to put it out such a shame. that's why im hyped because we don't see movies like these anymore!

It looks exactly the same as the old trailer. The only thing thats different is that it has the dvd/blu-ray release date. I know this because i have a freakish memory about movie trailers i've seen in my life. I completely remember seeing the trailer for Jurassic Park when i was 5.

FINALLY!!!

Well,at least it is not about a 80's rock star that comes back to life and travels through electricity like that movie called "Trick or Treat" that came out several years ago.Even though that one was good for it's time. That movie had a cool soundtrack too.

I saw it at an NYC screening in October and loved it.

The Warner Premiere label has been slapped on at the beginning of this trailer, which seems to indicate direct-to-disc. The movie deserves much, much better. If WB is totally against releasing this in theaters and making $60-80 mil, they should least do nationwide midnight shows throughout October.

dude finally
this movie on blu ray
i'm so gettin on the day it comes out
i'm soooooooo happy that i finally get to watch and have this movie
:]

Blue ray is overrated. But this movie should at least get a limited release! I'm sure some arthouse theaters will get the chance to show it.

treats?

I agree. Blu-ray is overrated.

It angers me to no end that they are f-ing this over and not giving it a theatrical release (even if they do it won't be a proper one if they're already announcing the DVD coming out in October) when it would so obviously be a hit. WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING? It looks awesome and I want the chance to see it on the big screen. It would have been fun seeing in theaters in October. This is a wasted opportunity!

hey colin I was at the show in new york unfortunately I was one of the unlucky ones! those idiots gave out two many tickets and hardly any seats! the funny thing is when they went on sale I was one of the very few that got the first few tickets lol. I have a question I read the script is it like the script or is it different? I read an early draft that is why. I was so pissed when I couldn't see this movie. I had no idea it was a first come first served type of thing.

Posted by: Ryan on April 19, 2009 at 21:02:48

Well everyone keep your fingers crossed because Dougherty just said this news is still not a hundred percent true =/ about the dvd or the movie hitting theaters. He said wait for announcements at comic con in july and at fangoria weekend of horrors in nyc. If you don't believe me write to him on myspace he will get back to you.

This looks good. I remember seeing the trailer but forgot all about it. I'll pound it when it comes out...

I agree that it should be in theatres, even if only during Ocotober. Also, Blu-ray is overrated IMO as well.

Posted by: Ryan on April 19, 2009 at 21:44:14

This movie should have been in my movie collection from two years ago!

Posted by: Colin on April 19, 2009 at 21:54:59

"I have a question I read the script is it like the script or is it different? I read an early draft that is why."

The dialogue in the movie is much better. Events are shifted around and pay off in more satisfying ways, and there's a little twist toward the end that wasn't in that early draft. A few of the tween/teen characters were wisely combined or dropped entirely. The occult shop and its owner were also excised without losing anything.

I also saw a screening of it in NYC back in October, but i didn't enjoy it not one bit. There was a few cool moments, but that's it. I expected so much more.

Posted by: Ryan on April 19, 2009 at 22:20:31

Hey colin thanks for answering my question just one more thing. do they still have the graveyard scene with the teens? anyway thanks again!

FINALLY, dam i've been waiting for this movie since i first saw the preview during 300. can't wait until October.

the trailer looks the same, they just added a quote and like two new angles of the movie. that's it. nothing new.
still can't wait to buy it, hahaha

I saw this movie last October and although not completely original, it truly was the most fun I had seeing a horror movie in the theater since The Frighteners. The memorable movies never get the proper treatment upon release, and this goes to prove the trend.

This is by far the best horror movie of this short century and they look to be releasing it direct to Dvd. Warner has clearly lost their marbles and must have the worst producing team to not notice the overwhelming positive reviews this thing gets anywhere it shows.

This is The Halloween Experience people have been waiting for, whether they asked for it or not!

While Warner Bros. won't give it a theatrical release, I think it's already got enough of a cult following you'll see midnight showings of it at Landmark Theaters and other arthouse movie theaters like you did with "Midnight Meat Train." Either way, I just want to see it.
